The main tool you will be using is Windows Movie Maker, which is included on most PCs running Windows. Windows Movie Maker will assist you in editing your movie, adding voiceovers and special effects. To find Windows Movie Maker, click Start> All Programs> Windows Movie Maker.

The other tool you will need to install is FRAPS. FRAPS allows you to easily record scenes from Granado Espada. The free trial version can be downloaded here.
Step 4: Writing a Creative Brief

Before you film your advertisement, it is good to write up a creative brief. First, decide what kind of product you are trying to promote and determine its target audience. Bear in mind that capturing the consumer’s attention is crucial and should be done within the first 3-5 seconds of the commercial. Second, be selective - focus the message. You can’t say everything there is to say about a product in 30 seconds. What is the most important, most powerful statement you can make about the product? Lastly, define your tone. Is the ad expected to be humorous or straight? Informative or simply a reminder? Steeped in emotion or just the facts?

Next, select your cast members. Granado Espada allows you to recruit the NPCs you meet along the way to join your family. With its multitude of recruitable characters, you will have no problems finding the perfect match for your cast!

Step 5: Storyboarding

A storyboard will give you a good idea of how you want your advertisement to look. You can make your storyboard using hand drawings, or with in-game screenshots to decide the different looks and angles of your shots as well as to decide who will appear in each shot of the movie.

Step 6: Capturing Film Footage

Now it’s time to start capturing video clips from Granado Espada:

1. Open FRAPS program.

2. Open Granado Espada program and login using your IAHGames Passport Account. When you have entered the game, you will notice that there are yellow numbers on the top right hand. This indicates that FRAPS is on and is ready to start recording.

3. You can hide Granado Espada’s User Interface by pressing ALT+F for a cleaner look.
Press F9 on your keyboard at the time you wish to start recording. The yellow numbers on the top right hand will become red color.

4. Press F9 again when you wish to stop recording. The numbers on the top right hand will become yellow color again.
Step 7: Importing Film Footage for Editing

Now that you have captured all your clips, you will need to edit these clips using Windows Movie Maker. On the File menu, click Import into Collections. In File name, enter the path and name of the file you want to import, then click Import. Drag the clip that you want and drop it into the storyboard below.

Step 8: Adding Transitions

Click View video transitions under Edit Movie in the Movie Tasks pane. Once you’ve found a transition you like, drag it from the Video Transitions pane, under Edit Movie pane to the box between two of your clips.

Step 9: Adding Titles

Adding subtitles to your movie helps to describe to your audience what is happening in your movie. In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click Make titles or credits. Choose the type of title you want to add. For example, if you want subtitles to appear during the movie clip, click on ‘Add title on the selected clip on the storyboard’. On the Enter Text for Title page, enter your text. Then click Done to add the title to your movie.

Step 10: Adding Music

In the Movie Tasks pane in Movie Maker, under Capture Video, click Import audio or music. In the Import File dialog box, click the name of the song you want to use in the background. Then click Import. Drag the song into the storyboard where you want the music to start playing.
