CONNECTION
ANS to: 1. Is the game playable in using a dial-up?
Top back to Connection
Yes the game is playable using a dial-up.
ANS to: 2. I have installed the G.E Client and clicked
on the G.E icon but why can't I start playing?
Top back to Connection
There are a few reasons why your G.E Client cannot start.
The few reasons are stated below:
- You do not have the minimum required version of DirectX. (DirectX 9.0c)
- The client failed to update automatically and you have to download the update manually
at the G.E website.
- Your Computer Specifications does not meet the minimum requirements of the game.
- You are using a different platform from the one shown in the PC specifications list.
- You do not have Internet Connection.
ANS to: 3. I am in an office network or on a college campus
network. Why can't I access the G.E server?
Top back to Connection
You may have to contact your network administrator for access rights for installation
of the G.E client.
ANS to: 4. Is it possible to play Granado Espada Off-line?
Top back to Connection
No.
ANS to: 5. I am lagging/latency/packet loss during my
GE game play. What is happening?
Top back to Connection
There's a few factors that contribute to the lag you are experiencing in game play:
- Your PC Specifications are not of recommended requirements
- Your Internet Connection Speed is too low
- The connection route is congested.
- Check if you have any programs running in the background. Background programs such
as MSN and Norton Anti-Virus will affect latency rates.
Solution to 1:
Check your PC specifications against the ones provided on the G.E website. If PC
specifications are not of the recommended specifications or better, you may experience
lag in your game play. The only solution to this is to upgrade your computer specifications.
Solution to 2 and 3:
Check your Internet speed. If you are using cable, try to reset your cable modem.
To do this, off your cable modem, unplug it, wait for one minute and then plug it
back in and power it up. If you use a dial-up connection to the Internet, try different
local access numbers for your ISP. If that does not help with the bad latency, try
doing a trace to the game server. This will help us when looking into the problem.
To do a trace to the game server:
- Run GE (will be useful to trace when you experience lag)
- Download the GETracetoserver.bat
from here.
- Double-Click on file to run it

- A command prompt window will appear. DO NOT close the window, the window will be
closed automatically upon completion.
- Continue to play GE for approximately 9 more minutes (the process takes approximately
8 minutes to complete).
- Find “traceroutereport.txt” in the same folder as “GETracetoserver.bat”

- Attach “traceroutereport.txt” to the ticket you are sending us.:
(Ticketing system available
here)
ANS to: 6. What is packet loss?
Top back to Connection
Packet loss occurs when one or more packets of data traveling across the network
fails to reach their destination. Packet loss can be caused by many conditions.
Some of them include:
- Network Degradation over a medium
- Over-saturated Network Links
- Faulty network hardware
- Lost (or 'dropped') packets can result in highly noticeable performance issues or
jitter with streaming technologies, Voice over IP, on-line gaming and videoconferencing,
and will affect all other network applications to a certain degree
DIRECT X
ANS to: 1. Does the PC require Graphics 3D Accelerator?
Top back to Direct X
Yes GE requires a 3D Graphics accelerator as shown in our specs. GE has very intense,
detailed graphics rendered in a 3D environment. Thus a 3D graphics accelerator is
required.
ANS to: 2. What is Direct X?
Top back to Direct X
Direct X is a collection of Application Programming Interface (APIs) for handling
tasks related to multimedia, especially game programming, on Microsoft platforms.
It is widely used in the development of computer games for Windows, the Xbox and
Xbox360. Direct X is a Windows technology that enables higher performance in graphics
and sound when you're playing games or watching video on your PC.
ANS to: 3. How do I check the version of DirectX I'm using?

INSTALLATION/PATCHING
ANS to: 1. What kind of Platforms can be used to play
G.E?
Top back to Installation/Patching
Normal PC operating on Windows 2000, XP
ANS to: 2. I am unable to log on to the server after patch
why?
Top back to Installation/Patching
The server is either undergoing maintenance or your patch is not complete.
ANS to: 3. Why is there a message, “Insufficient
Virtual Memory” when I start the G.E client or when I'm in game?
Top back to Installation/Patching
Virtual memory refers to the use of a portion of the hard disk that acts as additional
RAM. It is most often used when the memory demands of processes running on the system
exceed the amount of available physical RAM in the machine.
Virtual memory accesses the hard disk, and thus is very slow compared to RAM access
speeds. Also, when using virtual memory during a game, the game may become extremely
slow and become the primary cause of disconnection or lag. If Windows is managing
the virtual memory size, it will automatically adjust the size of the paging file
based on demand. This process alone may cause additional system lag. If the "Insufficient
Virtual Memory" message appears, this may be solved by increasing the virtual
memory or upgrading the PC by adding more RAM. Below are instructions on how to
increase your virtual memory:
For Window's XP Users
- Go to START, settings
- Control Panel
- System
- Advanced TAB
- Performance SETTINGS
- Advanced TAB
- Virtual memory CHANGE
- Custom size.
- First set the size to 0 (zero) and click OK.
- Then, defragment your hard drive by opening My Computer
- Right-click C: and choose Properties.
- Go to the tools tab and click Defragment Now.
- Click the button that says Defragment and follow the prompts.
Be advised that this step may take a long time depending on how long it has been
since the last time you defragmented the drive. You should not perform any other
operations on the computer while the defragmenter is running. After the defrag is
complete, return to the Virtual Memory settings above and set the 'Initial size'
to 1024 and the 'Maximum size' to 3072 (make sure you have approximately 3 gigs
of space available on the hard drive), click Set and OK.
ANS to: 4. I opened my G.E client but it's not able to
auto patch. What do I do?
Top back to Installation/Patching
Go to the G.E website and find the manual patch for download. Sometimes, the server
may be too crowded with traffic that the client is unable to automatically download
the patch.
ANS to: 5. When I'm installing G.E, the installation was
aborted due to some error. What should I do?
Top back to Installation/Patching
Check for physical defects on the installation DVD itself. If there are any defects
do contact the vendor where you bought your G.E package.

Top back to Firewall/Hacking
Hackers are able to get information from you in a variety of ways. One of the ways
is through a web browser. So make sure you should always have your security settings
set high enough that you are prompted before a site tries to run an executable program
on your system.
Almost all of today's browsers have security built in which allow you to control
this access. Backdoor programs embedded in web pages can install hidden programs
onto your computer such as Back Orifice and others. Always make sure you fully trust
the web site before you accept any programs they try to send you.
